long-term reading plans
Always wanted to read your Bible but didn't know where to start, what to read next or how to stay on track? Here are several reading plans to help you overcome those obstacles. Each has a unique angle on reading and loving your Bible, so take a couple minutes to see which one might fit your goals and reading preferences.
- Cover-2-Cover ~ read your Bible "cover to cover" in one year
- Chronological ~ read the Bible in the order each event happened
- Historical ~ read the Bible in the order it was actually written
- Old & New ~ read a portion of the Old and New Testaments each day
- New Testament Only ~ read the New Testament in a year
- Weekly Divisions ~ The Bible can be divided into divisions (the law, history, poetry, prophecy, gospels and epistles). This reading plan gives a portion of each division every week.
- NEW!!! Horner Bible-Reading System ~ Grant Horner's reading system is unlike any other you have seen. By the end of the year you will have read the entire Bible more than once. Sound intimidating? Look over the system and try it out! (optional reading chart)
- Bible Reading Chart ~ this is a one page chart with each Bible book and its corresponding number of chapters for you to cross off when complete.

did you fall behind?!?
Here are some tips to help you stay on track (or get you back on track)!
- Build a support system with a friend.
If you fall behind, start with current day's reading then make up what you missed later.
Do your daily reading on your phone before you get out of bed in the morning, while you're waiting in line or for an appointment, in the airport or while your kids are at practice.
Instead of reading in one long stretch, try reading in several short sessions
